Description: CD40106 IC CD 40106 DIP 14 Pin IC

CD40106BE CD40106 CD-40106 40106 DIP-14 Pin Dual In Package Hex Inverter Schmitt Trigger CMOS Hex Schmitt IC Breadboard Friendly IC

CD40106 is a Hex Schmitt trigger designed using monolithic complementary MOS (CMOS) technology. It is integrated with N and P-channel enhancement transistors. This IC belongs to the CD4000 IC series. The positive and negative going threshold voltages, VT+ and VT−, show low variation with respect to temperature, and hysteresis, VT+ − VT− ≥ 0.2 VDD is guaranteed. The IC offers features such as ESD protection, low thermal dissipation, and input diode clamps (in order to protect the input pins from damage caused by any static discharge). The output of this IC always comes in TTL which allows it to be easily interfaced with devices such as MCUs and MPUs.

Schmitt Trigger

A Schmitt Trigger is a comparator based circuit that gives the output on the basis of the previous gate output. In a Schmitt Trigger, the input value can be analog or digital but the output will be in two forms 1 or 0. Any circuit is convertible to Schmitt trigger by applying a positive feedback system. In a Schmitt Trigger circuit, the threshold is being used to get output. When the value is higher than the threshold the output will be HIGH otherwise it will be considered in the LOW state.

Hex Inverter

A Hex inverter is a digital logic gate that inverts the input digital signal. The output of a hex inverter is always high when the input signal is low. Similarly, a hex inverter always yields a low output when the input signal is high.
