How to use Letrol 2.5
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Letrol 2.5 may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Letrol 2.5 works
Letrol 2.5 is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by decreasing the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This decrease in estrogen can slow down or stop the growth of some breast cancers that need estrogen to grow. In addition, it is also useful in infertility whereby it increases the release of certain hormones to stimulate the release of eggs from the ovaries.
What if you forget to take Letrol 2.5?
If you miss a dose of Letrol 2.5, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Contraindication
Premenopausal women and children; hypersensitivity.
Mode of Action
Letrozole competitively binds to the heme group of aromatase, a cytochrome P450 enzyme which catalyzes conversion of androgen to oestrogen, leading to inhibition of the enzyme and a significant reduction in plasma oestrogen levels.
Precaution
Severe renal impairment; severe hepatic impairment; osteoporosis. Caution when driving or operating machinery. Lactation: not known if excreted in breast milk (for post-menopausal women)
